Dear Customers,

The 5-10-year warranty becomes void if you fail to order the mandatory maintenance services required by the manufacturer.

Why is it so important to maintain, clean and disinfect the appliances?

The regular cleaning and maintenance of the air conditioning units is important for a number of reasons. Without regular cleaning, the appliances can have a very negative effect on our health, they can emit odours, and the lack of maintenance can result in the failure of the air conditioner.

Due to condensation, moisture is present in the indoor unit of the air conditioning system during the cooling operation, which creates a perfect environment for the multiplication of bacteria, viruses and fungi that cause illnesses. As these pathogens might emit unpleasant odours, and in extreme cases, can cause respiratory diseases, it is important to keep the air conditioning appliance clean. The manufacturers frequently come up with new coatings to prevent the build-up of fungi and bacteria, with varying degrees of success.

Another reason for regular maintenance and cleaning is to ensure the normal operation of the appliance. As a result of the way of their operation, the indoor units of the air conditioning systems move large volumes of air, and they return that to the room by letting it flow through a cooling or heating surface (heat exchanger). The heat exchanger shall be large enough so that the required output can be reached, however, the appliance cannot be too bulky, as then it would fail to be aesthetically pleasing.

Besides cleaning, it is also necessary to check the parameters and the pressures of the appliance. The repairmen perform this operation with the help of a manometer and a thermometer to determine whether the air conditioning appliance works in the correct operating point, and whether the operational parameters are within the required value. The maintenance of the air conditioning system is extremely important for the long-term operation; that is why the manufacturers require the performance of the annual mandatory maintenance. The performance of these works is also included in the warranty conditions, and the dates of maintenance shall be listed in the warranty booklet.

The cleaning process

The first step in the cleaning process of the air conditioning system is the cleaning of the indoor unit: a generous amount of disinfectant (usually available in a spray format) is sprayed onto the turned off appliance’s heat exchanger. It takes time (usually about 10-15 minutes) before the disinfectant can reach even the tightest corner of the heat exchanger and produce its effects. Then the appliance is turned on again, and it shall operate until the condensation on the heat exchanger washes the disinfectant into the drain line as well.

While the disinfectant produces its effect, the mesh of the indoor dust filter is washed in warm soapy water; when they are dried completely, they can be inserted into the indoor unit. If the appliance contains any sensitive filters as well (e.g. plasma filter), those shall be cleaned according to the relevant instructions for use.

In extreme cases the indoor unit might be so unclean that it has to be dismounted and taken to a suitable place where it can be disassembled and cleaned.

Who should perform the cleaning?

If we only look at the cleaning method itself, it is not complicated; however, due to the necessary chemicals, the hard-to-reach outdoor units and the tools used during maintenance, it is recommended to let skilled professionals perform the cleaning and the maintenance. The professionals or the professional service centres have the necessary experience and proficiency in the field of cleaning without which a layperson can even suffer an accident. Manufacturers usually set it as a warranty condition that maintenance can only be performed by professionals. All things considered; it is truly recommended to call a professional.

All of our air conditioning system packages contain the followings:

  • the desired air conditioning appliance (indoor and outdoor unit),
  • delivery of the devices,
  • 3 m long caloric ducts necessary for mounting the appliance,
  • the specialised fittings for the ducts,
  • wall mounts for the outdoor unit,
  • super strong fasteners for the wall mounts,
  • mounting elements for the indoor unit,
  • cable connector for the power supply cables,
  • control cables for controlling the appliances,
  • pressurised refrigerant for the installation of the air conditioning system,
  • training for the safe operation of the appliance.

In most cases the 3 m long ducts are enough to connect the indoor and the outdoor unit, that is why we use this length when calculating our prices. If the mounting distance visibly exceeds the 3 m limit, you can also calculate the installation fee, as we charge HUF 8,000 + VAT per running metre. The installation fee does not include the price of groove cutting or installing cable trunks (HUF 10,000 + VAT per running metre), the costs of grid extensions (e.g. if the electricity network in your home cannot cope with the excess load caused by the air conditioning system, the network shall be extended) and the price of installing the outdoor unit in extreme heights or in areas of difficult access. Furthermore, the installation fee does not include the use of special lifting equipment or, in very extreme cases, scaffolding.
